As the fifth CEO of ARC Financial, Canada’s largest private equity firm with a focus on energy, the name Brian Boulanger is synonymous with energy investment in Alberta. In his role as CEO, he also heads up the ARC Research Institute, a world-renowned research body that explores the trends that influence the future of the energy business—from oil prices to ESG and everything in between. As such, Brian leads a team that focuses on the long-term picture of energy, putting research at the core of investment decisions, and brings the necessary capital to energy entrepreneurs in Alberta.
But he is known for more than his expertise in energy and is a respected leader and community builder in his own right. He is also a past chair of the United Way of Calgary and Area Board of Directors.
As a major investor in energy projects, Brian is on the forefront of the energy transition and share his thoughts on the evolution of energy in Alberta, including the growing momentum towards ESG and the future of oil and gas.
